Hello Beautiful Autumn

Hello Beautiful Autumn

Hello Beautiful Autumn

Ahhh…beautiful autumn, the colours on the leaves, the smell in the air, and the fact that the weather is slowly cooling down. Now is the time to prepare the body and mind for wintertime.

“He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything”

  • Arabian proverb.

2020 has without a doubt been a challenging year for everybody and I would dare to say that I believe that for most people, myself included, our health has been an even higher priority than normal. The constant fear of getting coronavirus, or transmitting it to someone else, is an extremely stressful state to be in, all the time. So what can we do to prepare our body and mind for a healthy winter?

What can you do to maintain your health during the cooler periods of the year? How about using food and exercise to strengthen your body and mind?

I intend to follow some of the tips I normally practice in the colder months, both before and during winter, and I hope to inspire you to pick up a tip, or two.

Okay, lets kick-start and strengthen that gorgeous body of yours for a healthy, happy and energy-charged autumn…

  1. Cook soups – make a double batch to keep some extra in the fridge, or try my delicious, super simple tomato soup! All you need is tomatoes, onions, garlic and herbs (link for the recipe, further down on this page)

  2. Prepare some root vegetables in the oven with herbs, garlic, olive oil and ginger. They taste good both hot and cold, then you can have them for lunch too! (link for the recipe, further down on this page)

  3. Feeling a cold coming on? Use my warm garlic oil in your nose and ears. Have you ever tried it? You can check my Instagram regularly, I often make videos with how to do this.

  4. Add in ginger, garlic, onion, turmeric and good oils, such as organic virgin olive oil, in all your meals to strengthen your body (this is one of my favourite add-ins, as you can see in my first few tips!).

  5. Drink hot water to clear and strengthen your lymph system. Just boil it, and let it cool a little. Drinking hot water throughout the day will also help balance sweet cravings. 😉

  6. Go to bed earlier, and aim to get 7-8 hours of sleep every day. A rested body is a stronger body, and more capable of helping you through everyday’s challenges.

  7. Drink herbal tea with honey to warm the body and give you a good nights sleep zzzzzzzz

  8. Try meditation! You can start with this breathing exercise from Andre Wells: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8fjYPC-k2k (this one is also perfect if you’re having difficulties falling asleep).

  9. Prepare your home for autumn. Cleaning isn’t only for spring, so tidy up your cabinets, and make sure you have nice warm socks, scarves and blankets for the cooler evenings coming.

  10. Self-care! Do you have a self-care routine? Self-care is so individual. Is there something that makes YOU feel good, that you could implement during your week?

Did you find this blog helpful? Then please forward it to a friend in need 😉 Remember, sharing is caring.

Until next time, stay safe, keep a distance, show some love… and wash your hands!

Wishing you a happy healthy autumn,

Namaste, Lulu
